You know its cold outside . . .
when you take that fresh skein of handspun out to whirl it over your head, after setting the twist, to remove the water and the darn thing freezes. Solid. Like krispy strands of yarn in your hand . . . it even made a crunching sound when squeezed.
It did thaw once it had been in for a few minutes and the yarn was not damaged. This is the same yarn as singles:

I can’t imagine how your hands feel after squeezing out icy yarn! Has the recent warm spell melting things a little.
