snowy hen house

Its snowing again . . . we’re already at about 50″ so far this year – in an average year we get something like 20″ total for the year! We’ve had a lot of snow. The nice thing about that is that this is the first winter that Mimmo is likely to remember when he gets older and he’s going to remember having a lot of snow and playing in it.

As I write this he’s been outside in the snow for about an hour. We’ve changed out the first pair of mittens for a dry pair; the first pair were very wet but still doing their job, his hands were nice and warm and dry inside, but they were getting heavy so it was time for new ones. It seems that the time invested in knitting mittens has been well worth it. Nothing warms a knitters heart on a cold snowy day like seeing the fruits of their labor put to good use!
