A three day what?
I guess this weekend is a three-day weekend . . . when your a stay-at-home-mom with a husband who works in restaurants (very much not a 9-5, m-f thing) weekends barely mean anything let alone 3-day weekends . . . my days are almost the same from day to day . . . varying only by what Dom’s work schedule (and therefore whether I have to cook for him any given meal) and things like playgroup and Drs apts. The only real exception is Sunday when the boys go to church together and I get a little time home alone to do things like knit or spin without my “helper”.
Yesterday we had a bit of an unusual day: first we went to playgroup where he had a great time except that when he got into an argument with one of the girls over a bike, she bit him. That is the first time that I’m aware of that he was actually bitten. He was shocked, stunned actually. He ran over to me crying and was just very upset that it had happened. She didn’t get him too hard, it didn’t break the skin or anything but his ear is still just a little red this morning. The other child was given a time-out and told to apologize and they hugged so I don’t think there is any lasting damage.
After we had lunch out at Panera together . . . he was very hungry and gobbled up his sandwich, milk and yogurt and seemed to really enjoy the people watching too. Then we went grocery shopping . . . where he quickly reminded me why I normally only shop when I can do it alone . . . in and out of the “car carriage”, running up and down the isles, grabbing stuff etc. I didnt’ even try to get all that much but it was really work and I was Done by the time we loaded everything into the car!
I’ve been doing only a little knitting lately . . . I’ve put the Minimalist Cardigan aside for a few days so I can work on that pair of socks . . . the first one is already 18 months old and it would like a sibling before its 2nd birthday! I’m happy to report that as of last night I’ve managed to turn the heel on the 2nd sock! If I can just keep some momentum going than perhaps, just perhaps I can actually finish these silly socks! Send good finishing thoughts my way please!
Chicken update
As of the morning egg collection we’ve had 123 eggs so far this month! That is a lot of eggs! And the blue egg layers are laying fairly often with between 1-4 blue eggs pretty much every day!

Loved your description of your day! Although mostly in a “thank god I’m not there any more” kind of way. With my youngest kids being 7, I can now send them to get things for me in the market and their help is actually helpful. Very exciting. Good luck on the socks.
Oh, and I agree – quizes rock.
hon…….you may want to think of starting to sell them eggies
