Okay, this may seem a bit ridiculous but here are the pics of my stash. This includes my stuff and most of the business stuff which is on the near end of the first photo . . . I’m not telling where the line is
This is why I don’t need more yarn or fiber!
That space is something like 4 feet wide by 17 feet long and about 6 feet high!
I did most of this stashing while I was working full time in anticipation of the day when I wouldn’t be working outside the home and would have a rug-rat or two to keep me from getting much done. Idea being to spend the money when I had it and store the yarn away so that when I couldn’t buy any more I’d have plenty. “Mission Accomplished!”
I’ve also got easily 100 lbs of spinning fiber that has been washed and carded an another 30 lbs or so that haven’t been sent out yet.
Year to date in 2006 I’ve gotten to spin, maybe, if I estimate up, a whole pound of fiber! And that counts samples for the business! At that rate my grandchildren will be using this stuff!
No more shopping for me! Seriously, none.

These 2 tubs are 70 qts each and hold most of my UFOs. I tend to start lots of things and once I get the hang of what it is I’m learning by doing the project I tend to loose interest and move on to starting something else. Some of these are inches from finished, others are barely started. Every once in a while I pull something out and actually finish it. Other times I go through and find things that get sent to the great frog pond in the sky . . . either way, as long as I’ve learned what ever it was I started the project for that is what really matters, right?
The little box on top is my hat box. It has the hats I make here and there out of random scraps or when something strikes my fancy to play with. I take it out in the fall and let a bunch of different kids I know, some family, some who could just use a new warm hat, pick something. then when everyone has made a selection, the remaing hats go to charity. Much easier than knitting specific hats for specific kids . . . and a great way to use up leftovers.

And this is my wheel. I love, love, love this wheel and I’m so very glad I got it when I did, before the baby and the staying home . . . it never would have happened now. I don’t get to spend as much time with her as I’d like, but as soon as the little guy gets just a bit bigger he’s going to learn about keeping his mitts off Mommy’s toys
At least by the time he is 4 I should be able to have it in the same room with him while I use it and not have him climbing it! Right? That blue stuff on there is the fiber my mom got at NH S&W years ago that will someday be her shawl. Someday!
Okay, its late, I should go get some sleep. 6:30 comes awefully early these days. And someone will be wide awake and wanting us to read to him. Yup! First thing in the morning when his eyes are barely open he wants his favorite book and he wants us to read it to him. How cute is that?
