Just a quick note, while the boss is asleep ;)

DJ had his 2 mo check up today. Everything is just fine; Dr. thinks he looks great! He now weighs 15 lbs 2 oz and is 23″ long!

Our downstairs neighbor’s son “LR” weighs 15 lbs and is also 23″ so they are pretty much the same size. DJ’s cousin who is 6 months old only weighs 13 lbs 2 oz though she is 26″ long and his other cousin who will be 1 year later this month weighs in at 17 lbs and is 29″. So he’s already heavier than one cousin and will likely catch up to the other next month! Not that it is a contest or anything . . . but it is kinda funny that one SIL was trying to tell me I should feed him less because he was growing too fast!

He did have to have 4 shots today :( Not a fun thing. Poor little guy cried and cried. I tried feeding him while they did them but after the first one that just wasn’t going to work. He then fell asleep for the car ride home and slept for a couple of hours only to wake up screaming as if he were still getting the shots! I managed to get him changed and then nurse him back to sleep. I’m going to try to just repeat that pattern the rest of the night and hope he wakes up in a better mood tomorrow.

Knitting wise I’ve manged to get a bit more done on the Encore sweater I had started a while back. I’m not normally a big fan, but since everything I wear winds up covered in a variety of things that need to be washed out frequently, I’m thinking a machine washable sweater or two for the winter might not be a dumb idea! I’ve got enough of the yarn left from the sweater that I’m thinking of making a hat, mittens and scarf to match, though I likely won’t actually wear them with the sweater, that would be a bit much . . .

I haven’t been able to do much with the business as I currently don’t have a place to set up the work computer and none of my software is in DH’s machine. I also haven’t been able to work things out yet with MIL to have her watch the little guy while I work so that I can try to do some dyeing again. Hopefully we’ll get it figured out sooner than later. I’m itching to get back to work on something other than diaper duty. Mental stimultion would be a good thing!

Ah well, I hear my boss calling, gotta run!
