Happy Mother’s Day!

My mom actually called me this morning! She wanted to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day since it’s my first. Funny, she counts this as my first, my very superstitious MIL says it doesn’t count this year . . . she also thinks having a a shower or planning for a baptism before the baby is born are bad luck . . . I can understand why she feels that way, afterall prenatal/medical care was a different thing back when she had her kids . . .

We spent yesterday at my neice’s 3rd birthday party. She’s such a little cutie pie. Here she is with her cousins getting ready to blow out the candles.

She really did have a great time this year and it was a lot of fun to watch her. Next year there will be one more little cousin at the party!

I’ve got a sweater to knit today, we have friends who are also having a baby, due 3 days before us! They know they are having a boy and I’m working on a sweater to take to the shower next weekend. . . . so that and packaging up a couple of orders are on my agenda for today.

DH is taking me and his mother out to dinner tonight for Mother’s day, if the poor thing can stay awake that long. He’s worked 4 shifts in a row, including a 14 hour double yesterday and will likely be exhausted by the time he does get home tonight.

Off to get some knitting done . . .

Why oh why do I bother to plan things?

So I was about to dye up some yarn in 1018 today when I discovered that I don’t have what I need to make that colorway anymore! So, I dyed up just enough to fill the 2 outstanding orders that required that colorway and then I discontinued it on the site. When what I have dyed is gone, that colorway is gone . . .

However, I did manage to creat a new colorway that I’m very happy with! I even managed to dye up some yarn to add to the site in a few days when its been skeined off. Hopefully, in a few days. I’m also thinking next week I’ll dye up some additional yarn in the two new Mystery Kit colors and perhaps even make a few 2nd chance Mystery kits availabe, so if you missed them and want another shot at one, watch the site next week!

Okay, time to clean up the kitchen . . .

Updates all around . . .

The Mystery & Sock Kits are out! Our local Mail carrier probably hates me right now since I left him a giant pile of packages on Monday . . . . but hey, it is his job, right. Besides, I can barely carry myself around let alone try to carry laundry baskets full of packages up the steps into the Post Office! I’ve even heard back that the very first package has already been delivered!

I’m actually really excited about these kits, both the patterns were done by guest designers this time and they came up with some great patterns! I’m also excited about the new color, can’t wait to hear what others think about them! Fun, fun, fun!

Today is a dye day. I’ve got a great big pile of yarn sitting here waiting for me to scour it so it can go be dyed up. I’ve got a couple of things that have already been ordered and I’m thinking of dyeing mostly Sock and Lace yarns this time around, though I do have 2 lbs of Grande skeined off and ready to go as well. I figure it will be the end of the week, or perhaps early next week before I have it all skeined off and ready to go on the website. Today’s colorway, in case your curious is 1018 Harvest Leaves.

Baby update

The walls are painted and DH has been working on the trim . . . . the wall paper has arrived and is waiting patiently to be applied. We have a piano mover scheduled to come by first thing Friday morning to see if its possible to move his piano into the office in the barn. Gosh, I really do hope they can manage it! I know he’d really like to keep the piano, but I really don’t want a piano in the nursery!

Tomorrow we will officially be at 31 weeks! The baby is growing fast and very, very active. I’m getting to the point that its hard to get comfortable at night so I’m getting less sleep and having to nap a bit more during the day to make up for it. I suppose it doesn’t hurt to get used to interrupted sleep and having to nap more often. . . .

Well, I’d better get to work if I’m going to get all this yarn dyed up today!
