Sorry folks!

No new baby photo! They didn’t give us one this time. Turns out we were lucky the did the ultrasound yesterday at all. Apparently, they were short handed or something and were rescheduling pretty much everyone who wasn’t there for an emergency situation (which we weren’t) so . . . but they did do it and everything looks fine.

We did get their best guess at the baby’s current weight, 2lbs, 7 oz! 97th percentile! We also found out that I’ve gained 8lbs in the past 5 weeks! Guess we no longer have to worry that I’m not gaining fast enough!

We also got to do our gestational diabeties test while we were there, wasn’t that fun. Fortunately, I’d read something on it in one of the books and knew that the stuff they have you drink is yucky so I chugged it down as quick as I could . . . the nurse was like, ” You must have been thirsty”, I said no, just wanted it over with! Guess most people sip it or something. YUCK!

I also found out what is most likely going on with my back. I’ve been getting a pain in my right hip that sometimes goes down my whole let and even makes it hard to walk sometimes. Turns out that either due to the extra fluids or the position of the baby (could be either or both) something is pinching a nerve and that is what is causing the pain. I’ve found I can’t stand up to work in the kitchen for long periods of time anymore, I have to take frequent breaks and apply the heating pad to keep it from hurting. The real bummer is its making it tougher to work. Well, at least I know there are only about 14 weeks to go and this part will end eventually . . . Can’t complain too much as we’ve been doing so well otherwise with everything, just thought I’d mentione it . . .

We’re having lunch in a few minutes and then I’m taking out the dyepots to get back to work! Knitting wise, since the shawl is done, I’ll be working on the baby blanket, making baby socks and wool soakers . . .

back to work . . .
