A Few Sheep Shy of a Farm

Last night I felt the baby move! It was so weird to feel, like a little tapping motion from inside! Very exciting!

I also suspect we are going through a growth spurt in there. Just in the past couple of days my middle has really started to “pop” and unless I’m wearing something very loose you can definately see that I’m preggers now. I’ve also been crazy tired for the past few days and eating a lot. I’d been feeling better for a few weeks, but this week its just been impossible to get anything done! Counting naps I’m sleeping about 11 hours a day! Really does make it hard to get anything done! And even when I am away I just don’t have any energy to get much done. The hard part about that is that I do have things like dyeing to do and its just been impossible to get it done. I’m hoping that this will clear up again in another day or two ao I can get things done again.

One of the few things I have been able to do is a little bit of spinning (low energy activity) so I’ve been working on a baby project. I’m spinning up some Merino Top in 2 oz sections, spinning the singles at about 50 wpi and I’ll be making a 3 ply yarn from these, my first attempt actually at doing a 3 ply. I plan to use this yarn to knit a wool diaper cover once I work out the pattern for them.

I’ve had several emails the past few days asking about when we will be offering the next Mystery Kit. To be quite honest, I haven’t had a chance to come up with a project for the next one yet. I have a few ideas I’m kicking around but haven’t really given it a lot of thought yet. I’m hoping to get this batch of dyeing done and then to take a few days to get things caught up on the website and perhaps even get the missing swatches filled in before I really move on to the next Mystery Kit. I hope to have selected the project and and done my calcultions for it to be able to put it on the site sometime between late January and early February, but we’ll have to see how things go . . .

Well, I really should go, the stomach is rumbling again and I have yarn to dye up after lunch . . .

she came over yesterday afternoon and helped me to do the entire inventory! So much easier to do with help! And can I just tell you, my goodness we have a lot of stuff in there!

I also managed to get some of the bookkeeping updated . . . perhaps 2/3 of the way through it. I’ve got to get the rest done in the next few days . . . . I actually don’t mind doing that kind of stuff, its just been hard to find the time for it.

Also, today I really am going to dye yarns. I’ve got a bunch of orders pending so I have to get that done. In fact, I’d better go work on getting the kitche prepped so I can take out the dyes. . . .

Sucked into the Elann yarns again . . .

Yup, even though I have tons of yarn and access to lots more with Inspirations I occassionly find myself unable to resist some yarn from another source. Today it is the Elann Peruvian Collection Baby Cashmere. I just bought a bunch in 4 different colors for making some baby things both for our little one and for the new neices and nephew we have either here or on the way. This stuff was just too soft and nice to resist getting some for baby things. . . . but shh! don’t tell DH

I went to the Saugus Knitting Group (Hi K & M) last night for the first time in a while. It was nice to get out and be around other knitters for a change. I’m going to try to start making it to most of the meetings . . . . While I was there I worked on the hat, mitten, scarf set some more. I finished the hand of the second mitten and now they are ready to be felted. I’ve started the scarf and have several inches of it done, k2, p2 ribbing goes pretty quickly so I expect to have it done and read for photo in a few days. Once I get the mittens felted and the cuffs done I’ll be able to work on writing up the pattern so we can get it added to the site. . . .

Since DH is working a double today I’m going to attempt to finally get that next round of dyeing done. I would have liked to have done it yesterday but there was just so much else going on that I couldn’t possibly take over the kitchen to do it. Seriously have to start dyeing these yarns ahead . . .
