A Few Sheep Shy of a Farm

Time for a change . . .

For a while now I’ve been having a little trouble finding the engery to keep up with everything I need to be able to do. I had read and been told that once I got into the second trimester that would get better. Well, we are at 17 weeks now and it really hasn’t gotten a whole lot better. True, I’m averaging 1 nap a day instead of 2, but I’m not exactly ready to run a road race

We have now come up with a plan to make some changes to how we are doing things with Inspirations Yarn which should allow me to have an easier time keeping up, take some of the pressure off and allow me more choice about what days I feel up to a dyeing marathon, and provide better customer service at the same time.

While we are working on make the changes I have had to take down a few of the pages at the site since they are going to be getting a radical overhaul. I expect it will take me a few days to get the pages changed and that I should have the site back up and running again by the middle of next week. Once the changes are in place I’ll be sending out a newsletter, posting an note on the site, to KR and here so that everyone can see what we’ve done . . .

I did a bunch of dyeing over the past two days so today I’ve got a lot of reskeining and packaging to do so that all these orders can go out in the mail on Saturday. Getting these orders out will be a good thing since we literally have yarn everywhere right now!

Baby update:

We’re 17 weeks preggers now and I’m really starting to get a belly. The last of the clothes that used still fit are pretty much done at this point. Last week we went to the Dr. and everything is fine. The only thing is that I haven’t gained as much weight as she would like . . . so I’ve been working hard to eat more, tough job huh? Next week we go in for another ultrasound, this time to check the baby’s organs and be sure everything is going well in there . . . Since the office with the ultrasounds is just around the corner from the Dr’s office I’m planning to stop in and see if I can hop on the scale to see how I’m doing. Since it will be exactly 1/2 way between appointments that should give me an idea of whether this is working . . . speaking of eating, I’m being “told” its time to go do something about lunch . . .

More snow!

Really, its coming down right now! Expecting a total of 6-8 more inches last I heard. This is starting to get ridiculous! I’ll try to snap a quick pick when I go water the buns in a minute . . .

I also managed to rearrange both a large portion of my personal stash and the shop stash a couple days ago. It really needed doing so I could get to the things I needed. Now I even have a few empty containers. Don’t feel sorry for them, they won’t be empty for long around here!

Since I was going through the stash I pulled out both some yarn and some fiber that I’m likely to not get around to using. I’m going to try to get a bunch of pictures of it later today and I’ll post them. Plan is to offer them for trade . . .

Today is going to be a dyeing day. DH is actually doing the dishes as I type this, then I’m going to fill buckets and let him lift them out of the sink. I just can’t do that part anymore . . . too heavy.

I’m back!

Okay, so I think I have the blog basically fixed. Yes, there are a few things that still look a little screwy but my template should be basically back with links and rings etc.

We had a whopper of a snow storm here over the weekend. I’ll try to go out and take a pic or two in a bit . . . the drifts were as much as 4ft high in our back yard! I had to dig the dog a tunnel so he can “go out” when he needs to! He’s got his own snow fort out there!

Things have been a bit nuts for us lately so I haven’t gotten much done, but I am hoping to turn that around today . . . wish me luck!

Off to dig a little more and give the bunnies another round of water . . . pics later.

Wait!

Don’t go it really is me! I know things look rather strange and all my links and rings have vanished . . . let me explain.

Some how, something went terribly wrong in my template while I was trying to allow for comments through blogger. I don’t yet know exactly what happened but its a mess! So, since it may take me a couple of days to go through all the stuff and figure out what I screwed up, I’ve adopted one of the preset templates in order to still have the blog function.

If you are the person in charge of any of the many webrings I’m in, please, please don’t take me out. I’m working on getting my real template fixed and back up as soon as possible, hopefully sometime over the weekend at the latest!

Inspirations Update

I took the plunge yesterday and got the correct version of Quickbooks for what I am trying to do. Let me tell you, it wasn’t cheap (very far from it) but I think it is going to make life easier in the long run. After I input all of last year’s information that is! I worked on it until about 12:30 last night once I got the software downloaded an installed, a long process! As I’m getting things set up in it I’m seeing more possiblities for how this is going to make my life easier and give me much better records of what is going on. Seriously, the only downside now is going to be getting all the back data entered, that could take days! (or weeks?!)

I’m working on the hat/mitten/scarf set still. I’ve got the mitten cuffs and the rest of the scarf to go. . . I had thought I might finish the scarf today, but now I may not. See, DH had made plans for us to go to a movie with friends this afternoon, but it turns out one of them is sick so we won’t be going. I’d figured a bulky weight k2, p2 scarf was just the thing for movie theater knitting, right? Well, we may go Saturday if J is better by then. . . so perhaps it will get done over the weekend.

My day got rather turned around today, I had planned on not really getting any work done today since we’d be going out. I’d figured on getting some odds and ends done, but not the dyeing I need to do. Now since we are going to be home, I can probably dye stuff after lunch. Though since DH has help in the barn today I’ll probably be expected to cook them a meal in a few minutes. . . .

I’m also kicking around ideas for Mystery Kit #4, since people have actually been asking when it will be available. I’ve got a couple possiblities I’m playing with, but haven’t decided on one yet . . . I’ll keep you posted on that . . .
