F.O.

Yup! Another FO! The pink Green Mountain socks are done and I wore them yesterday! I’m also working on a pair of baby socks, newborn sized being done in Espresso in a new colorway which I haven’t posted yet. Petal pink. I should have the sock done soon and I’ll write up the pattern to add to the patterns page at Inspirations once I have a picture and the colorway page finished.

I’m also thinking about doing some sort of a Yarn of the month type thing. I posted about it on KR and have gotten feedback both there and here. I’m still thinking through how to do it but I’m leaning toward a Project, every other month. I think what I would do is offer 3 options for colorways, either Cool colors, Warm colors or Surprise me! Then I would experiement with new colorways and come up with one of each that I like. Depending on how the colors look I’d come up with a pattern for a project, things like hats, scarves, socks, felted bags, maybe a tea cozy . . . small stuff. Then I’d send out the kits and if people seem to like them I’d add to colorways and patterns to the shop. That way those who sign up for the surprise kit would get a sneak peak at a new colorway and new pattern before its offered to anyone else . . . I guess what I’d do is post something saying that the new surprise kit is available and what the price will be, with a closing date for orders and a mailing date, then when I know how many to create I can go ahead and dye them up . . .

What do you think? I’m going to post this on KR too and see if there is enough interest to make it worth doing.

I’m going to be an Auntie, again, very soon!

My SIL is in labor! They went to the hospital yesterday, but since it was very early stages and a first child, they were sent home. Actually they came to hang out with us, my brother worked with DH on the barn for a few hours and SIL sat on the couch, trying to nap between contractions. I tried not to fuss over her too much, but it wasn’t easy!

At last report they were at her mother’s, which is near the hospital, and had a DR apt. this afternoon. . . . could be another day or so before Megan actually arrives, but I doubt it will be much longer than that! Very exciting!

In other news, I’ve been mailing out yarn and I’ll be spending this afternoon dyeing up so more . . . lots to do here! I’ve got a couple of pics for you . . . . I won’t say who these are for, but aren’t they yummy?

This is colorway #1009 Tropical Seas in Cream (thats silk) and this:

This is colorway #1004 The Mean Reds in Latte (3-ply sport) and each of these skeins should make a pair of socks!

I can honestly tell you, so far the hardest part of doing these yarns is actually mailing them away! Just handling them I get so many ideas! It makes it hard to let go!

I’m hoping to get pics of the mohair poncho on someone in the next day or two and finalize the pattern so I can get that up on the site . . . This is all so exciting. I keep feeling like some morning I’m going to wake up to find I dreamed that I was doing this and I really have to go back to work in an office somewhere. . . .

Well, off to do a bit on some baby socks before breaking out the dyes!

Yikes!

Well, its been a busy couple of days! Lots of fiber activity, dyeing, knitting and many ideas. Tomorrow I’m sending out the first round of orders in the mail. Actually, the yarns turned out so well that I’m going to have a little trouble mailing them out! I have to keep reminding myself that I can have some anytime. I can make more. We aren’t going to run out! Isn’t that funny, silly and maybe even a bit ridiculous?

I’ll take a couple of photos in the morning to shre with you before I send them out . . .

I’ve also just added 8 NEW colorways! Please stop by and take a look, I’d love to hear what you think!

Thanks!
