Good bye Summer!

Yes, I realize that technically we have nearly 3 weeks of summer left, but Fall has been in the air here for a couple of weeks already. It won’t be long before it will be time to change the closets over from cotton to wool . . . . and apples are starting to show up in greater numbers at the grocery store.

There are a number of things I’m looking forward to about fall this year. Apples, apple pie & apple cider, preferably hot & mulled, yum! Cooler weather and better nights for sleeping; being able to wear the socks I’ve been knitting; baking bread and pies, hmmm and perhaps a batch of scones?

I’m also really looking forward to Halloween this year. Usually I’m out late enough to miss all the kids but this year I’ll be home! Guess I’ll have to dig out the spooky sounds tape and see if my brother still has has that strobe light . . . this is going to be fun!

The guys are working on the barn again today hoping to make some progress on getting the roof ready for shingles and a few other things that need to be taken care of. Have I mentioned how glad I’ll be when this project is finished?

okay, off to get groceries so I can feed these guys lunch in a bit. More later . . .
