Isn’t technology wonderful?

All these gadgets that are suppose to save us time . . . . yeah, right!

Well, after wasting the morning on yet more tech support calls we finally have the wireless network running properly again.

And in addition to that, we now have a new phone service. DH signed us up for one of those “internet-based” phone services. The land line goes away any day now. . . . So we finally got that all installed. The top of our tv cabinet is lit like a christmas tree! I made him buy a serge protector strip before trying to install this next step, as it meant several more things plugged into that one area. Must remember to double check this all with our electrician next time he’s over to work on the barn!

All seems to be running for the moment, though once the barn is done lots of this will be moving out there . . . and the fun will start all over again! Can’t wait!

Happy Saturday!

Wow, the long holiday weekend is here . . . . just doesn’t seem possible that the summer is over. Its been a relatively short summer here. Not a lot of real summer weather. No beach days for me this summer. . .

Actually, with the barn and everything else we’ve had quite a bit happening this year. Now that the air is starting to feel like fall I’m starting to squirrel things away for winter. Here is a sample of what I’ve been up to:

These:

are going here:

and then are turned into these:

This is a one-gallon jar of home grown, “sun-dried” tomatoes! The jar isn’t quite half full yet, but there are a whole lot more tomatoes out there so I have no doubt it will be filled long before we run out of tomatoes to dry!

The garden fairy says its going to be a tastey winter! She’s guarding the mint, oregano and onions that will all be dried over the next few weeks in order to stock up for some winter cooking. In fact, I think its just about cool enough for some bread backing to begin ;)

Well, no shortage of things to be done here today so I’m off to it!
