A Few Sheep Shy of a Farm

Hot and Sticky!

Yup! Its only late July and it feels like August around here. Not much fibery to report today. Still haven’t worked on the blanket, though I think I lost a needle and will have to fix some stitches . . . what fun.

Took DH to the DR today, was given a note for work, pain meds and a muscle relaxer. That means I offically have him home for another 10 days. All totalled that will be 2 weeks of him home and at least a week of it with him miserable. Not a fun way to spend late July!

PixieDust is coming over later today, after it starts to cool a bit so we can brush the bunnies. No way am I sitting with an Angora rabbit in my lap with it 90 degrees in the shade, not fun for us or the buns!

We’re thinking of going on a camping trip up to NH early next month . . . but without DH, he won’t be camping unless we buy a pop-up with a tempurpedic mattress in it! Not after this! Arrow, on the other hand, does a little dance if you mention camping around him! Its very, very cute. And heaven forbid he see the tent or camping equip come out, sends him into an absolute frenzy!

We had a late start to the day with DH not feeling up to eating this morning so we had breakfast at 11:30 and I do believe its about time to go make lunch . . . at this rate it will be 8 or 9 tonight before we have dinner . . . good thing I am on my own schedule these days!

I’ve got some stuff around the house that needs doing today and I may try to do a bit more of the blanket . . . but either tomorrow or Friday I’ll be doing some more dyeing . . .

The other fiber thing that needs doing soon is that I’ve got a whole pile of fleeces in the house just waiting to be scoured . . . perhaps I’ll get one done this week? Perhaps . . .

DH is home for his day off today, back is about the same though he did just go to get his own newspaper . . . should be another interesting day around here

I definately like 2 of these, jury is out on the other two. What do you think? I’m going to see how they are once I knit up a swatch . . .

Looks like the next round of dyeing will be on Thursday, tomorrow is going to be all about the chores Ah, well, guess it can’t all be fun and games, right?

Okay, so the plan has been to do some dyeing today and I still hope to but it seems there is some of that nasty stuff called housework calling . . .

DH is home again today and not doing well at all. Why are men such babies when they don’t feel well? Its funny, there is so much I’d like to get done today, but with him home and unable to do anything but lye on the couch or bed and complain it gets to being almost impossible to do anything. And then there are the constant feedings. . . its going to be a very long day indeed!

I’m off now to buy his newspaper for the day and try to pick up something for lunch while I’m out so I won’t have to go again in the middle of doing the dyeing.

As an added bonus, he has the next 2 days off anyway, works Friday and perhaps Saturday lunch, if he’s better, and then has the week of the DNC off! I may be in for a very unproductive 2 weeks!!!!

Ah, well. More later if I can & hopefully some yarn!

Well, the baby shower is less than 2 weeks away and I haven’t managed to get any closer to finished on the blanket all this past week! I’m hoping to do a few hours on it today . . . . DH’s back is still out and has actually gotten a bit worse! Looks like he’s going to be home all day today! Hmm, that means I need to plan to feed him . . .

I’m hoping to get back into the “dye lab” tomorrow, today is just not going to happen. I’ve got a few ideas for some more colors . . .

Oh, we found out over the weekend, DH’s other brother, the one in England is going to be a father again! This will be #4 for them. The baby is due in February so at least I’ll have a little time after finishing the holiday knitting to make something. This makes something like 8 babies either with neighbors, family or close friends so far this year! Must be something in the water?

Guess I’ll go try to get in a few pattern repeats before “feeding time”.
