Yahooo!
This week is 1/2 over! oh, wait! Bummer! this week is 1/2 over. While I love my weekends and ultimately would like to not have to go to work, I hate chasing weekends and I’m doing it again! Yuck!!! Life goes by far too fast when all you do is try to get through the week to get to an end!
Last night DH hijacked my evening! He made dinner plans with a couple of friends, which I hadn’t been planning for. It was fun, we had a nice meal and a nice visit with 2 of his friends I don’t see very often . . . actually one of the topics of conversation was what would we do if we could retire today. One of these guys has had a bad heart for a while now and his Dr would like him to retire comepletly and he said he just can’t bring himself to do it, he’d be too bored. I, on the other hand, could retire tomorrow and not be bored for a minute! I have so many things I’d like to be able to spend my time doing. Fiber projects, reading, writing, research lots and lots of research, travel, gardening, teaching, nope not a chance I’d be bored. In fact, left to my own devices I’d probably be even busier than I am. I have to restrain myself from starting new things on a regular basis because I really don’t have time to do it all.
Since we were out to dinner I didn’t get to spend any real fiber time last night. I still have not finished that sock (I did one round on it right before I went to sleep), the wheel is still in pieces and my tomato seedlings need to be “potted up” to the next size container very soon. Trouble is, DH is home again tonight and will want to do “dinner” which is almost always an eleborate production involving lots of clean up afterward. Don’t get me wrong, he is a great cook and makes wonderful dishes. Its just that he ususally requires me to be “prep cook” while he’s cooking (ie: chopping, slicing and washing) and then it ususally takes the better part of an hour to restore the kitchen when he is done. So we shall see what I can get done tonight . . .
Tomorrow night I will be visiting his mother who is going to teach me how to make some Italian Easter dish that DH really likes, I don’t remember what its called but I’m going to learn how to make it. She makes like 10 of them every year and will be spending most of tomorrow working on them. I’ve asked her to hold off on putting the last one together so I can have a lesson. Time to learn to be the good little Italian wifey, even if I’m mostly Irish
Friday night is Garden Club! The kids will be at my place around 6 and I’ll be spending any time I have before they arrive getting ready . . . It should be a fun evening and we have lots to do. Which reminds me, I need to go get some supplies before then . . . perhaps tonight on the way home?
Ah well, I’ve some meetings to arrange and plenty to do today so I likely won’t post again until tomorrow. I’ll let you know then what was on tonight’s dinner menu . . .
