I love quizes like this one!

I believe you belong in Pride and Prejudice; a
world of satire and true love. A world where
everything is crystal clear to the reader, and
yet where new things seem to be happening all
the time. You belong in a world where your
free-thought puts you above the silly masses,
and where bright eyes and intelligence are
enough to attract the arrogant
millionaire/prejudiced young woman of your
choice.

Isn’t this fun?
Well, I didn’t go to the antique store, just wasn’t feeling up to going out. I might have gone if A had been around, sometimes its easier to muster some enthusiasm when you aren’t going it alone . . . instead I just stayed in and worked on the socks.
Actually, I realized when I got to work this morning, not only did I not leave the house once I got home on Thursday, I never even got dressed all weekend! How’s that for lounging? I’m still a bit stuffy today but feeling much better than I did last week.
I noticed lots of complaints in blogland re: the change to Daylight Savings Time. Funny, while it does throw me a little off for a few days, in the long run I like it better, I get more sunlight while I’m actually awake. I am not a morning person. Never have been, likely never will be. I have at times been able to adjust my clock so that I can get up early for a period of time, but ulitmately I revert to being a night person. Even as a small child I preferred to stay up late and sleep in, its just in my nature. Of course, I can also sleep for 12-14 hours without a problem. DH is fond of saying I must be related to Isabelle the cat, perhaps we were siblings in another life. She can sleep 22 of 24 hours without a problem and I probably could too if he and the dog weren’t so fond of waking me. Once I’m actually in bed, I love to sleep. Getting me to stop doing forteenhundred things long enough to go to bed is another story . . . .
As fopr the handspun socks, I was nearing the cuff (toe up) on the second sock when I realized I was going to be very close on the amount of yarn, like withing a few yards. When I got toward the top of the cuff and was close to running out but still a few inches from long enough, I realized I still had a rather large gauge swatch that I had made! So I started unravelling the swatch and I’m now within a few rounds of finishing the 2nd sock. This will be a record for me! I will have done a whole sock in a little over 24 hours! Granted I didn’t do much of anything else during that time. I did some laundry, cooked, ate, did dishes and slept and was online/phone for portions of it. . . . but I didn’t do much other wise except to knit this sock. Still, it will be nice to be able to wear them to work tomorrow! Once this pair is done I’m going to try a pair done the same way I just did the kid size socks only in my size this time . . . . DH was looking at the kid socks over the weekend and announced that he likes the way they look much better than the kind I had been doing. Not that he doesn’t like his socks, just now that he has seen them done differently he likes these better! Doesn’t that figure! I guess I’ll plan to do the next pair I make for him that way, when ever that is . . .
Oh, I’m also driving a new route to work. Between road changes for the “Big Dig” and the Toll increase (now $3/day) DH and I have made a pact to take the back way (still working out which back way is best for each of us as we commute at very different times). The plan is to take that $30/week between us and put it into a jar for a vacation fund. We should have enough to go someplace warm and tropical next January, all for leaving the house a few minutes earlier each day! I’m thinking of posting pictures of warm tropical places and cool frozen drinks on the fridge and in my car as motivation!
Garden Club update: We postponed the date of our first meeting from yesterday to this coming Friday, two of our members had a previous engagement and we decided it was best to wait until all members could be present. Since I was sick, I really didn’t mind. I’m also working on some possible revisions to our plan for the first meeting, seems the moms may not go for the earthworm boxes . . . . wonder why? Perhaps we will build one box and put someone in charge of it to bring it back for regular updates . . . might be the safer way to go . . . We may also do either some “easter” egg dyeing with natural dyes or some melt & pour soaps with plant materials added to them. That way we can talk about some of the things you can do with things grown in a garden, things the kids might not think of . . . and I’ve got buckets worth of melt & pour . . . I know those may seem like reaching a bit, but I’ll have 3 hours or so to fill and if I don’t keep them busy there is a good chance of them melting down so I’d rather try to add lots of activities with hands on stuff and things they can take home . . . a little something for everyone
And depending on what the weather reports say for Friday evening, we may need some extra inside activities!
Well, off to get some things done, I have more emails than ususal to respond to after being out on Friday . . .
