Here we go again!
Yup, its Monday again.
Weekend Progress Report:
Sleep: yes, you guessed it, not much of that to be found this weekend! So much going on it just didn’t really happen . . . New plan is to get to bed by 10:00 tonight, wish me luck!
Knitting: Slight progress on the socks, only another inch or so to go on the 2nd one. However, I need to reknit the first one, ripping back to before the heel and adding about a 1/2 inch to the length of the foot before redoing the heel.
Saturday evening, while the guys were watching the game, I cast on the first of the baby sweaters. I’m doing a top-down raglan cardigan in worsted weight wool. It won’t be machine washable, but it will be warm and since the baby this is for is due to arrive in mid February, I felt warm would be a good thing . . . I hope to do the sleeves and button band tonight and I’ll likely do a matching hat and either socks or booties as well. I’ve referenced a couple of books for tips on structure and sizing but other than the ususal help someone new to designing needs, I’m writing this pattern myself as I do it. I’m going to ask a friend to take a picture of the finished sweater set and I’ll add the pattern here when all is said and done.
Spinning: Well, I didn’t do much, but I did use the wheel. I tried a bit of the merino/angora blend but its been so long I’m a bit out of practice . . . so I plied some of the merino and angora that I had already spun . . . I may try to do a little spinning tonight, even if its only 30 minutes or so.
Bunny update: The girls are weathering these cold temps well. They are in the back hallway and when I put a thermometer out there it does go as low as about 38 on the very cold nights but they each have a box to hang out in and I used some cardboard to make a wind break on the one spot that can get drafty if the wind really blows and they seem to be just fine. The other fuzzy kids are going a bit stir-crazy spending so much time in the house. Our poor dog is bored out of his fuzzy little mind. He normally spends the whole day out in the yard (he can get into the same hall the rabbits are in any time by the doggie door, but with the weather so cold we’ve been just letting him out briefly when he needs to go and keeping things shut up tight the rest of the time.
Barn: No progress on the barn, though with the weather that isn’t a surprise. My guess at this point is that it will be March before any real progress is made at this point. Bummer! Some day we are going to have storage and I’ll actually get to have a fiber room, some day!
Off to find a bigger cup of coffee ; )
