Time to get organized.

For some reason, early each January I feel the need to get reorganized. Time to set up files for the coming year, to adjust calendars, to clean the closet and get a fresh start.

Some how this always involves lists. And if I get really into it, lists of the lists . . . .

I’m updating my calendar with Birthdays to remember, and making a list of cards to buy. I have a co-worker who buys her cards at the beginning of the year and has them ready to go for each month far in advance. Now doesn’t that sound like a great, organized idea? I’m thinking of giving it a try. I just made the list of cards to buy and its at about 40 cards not counting the ones we know I forgot! Yikes, this could be expensive!!! I wonder if there will be room in the box for next year’s Christmas cards? Perhaps if I do them now I’ll wind up actually sending some next year, unlike this year when I didn’t send any! Hmm, maybe that needs to be another list?

I’ve also made a list of what I had knit or bought for everyone this year so I don’t have to worry about giving the same thing next year. And I’ve started a list of the gifts I already have or plan to make for next year. Yes, I have bought a couple of things already. Actually, we are planning to try to have all the shopping done over the next couple of months so we just won’t have to worry about more than a few last minute details next year. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Lets see if we can actually do it ; )

I have a list of my New Year’s Resolutions, the knitting ones are listed to the right here, the others are just listed in my notebook.

I’ve also started keeping a food diary along with a friend a work. So I’m keeping a list of what I eat each day and how much water I drink. (which is none so far today, oops!)

I also have a list of the gifts for other occassions that I plan to knit in the coming months. I’ve started a lace shawl for my brother’s fiance and I have no less than 6 baby gifts to be knit in the next couple of months. Fortunately for me it sounds like the wedding may not happen until the summer of 2005 so I might have enough time to finish the shawl before the shower, maybe. More on that later. The baby gifts are due beginning the end of this month and go through about May at the moment, but at the rate we’re going I wouldn’t be surprised if there are few more before the winter is over!
