Happy New Year!
After an extended break, I’m back at work. Which means I’m now in front of a computer all day and far more likely to post!
Okay, so the holiday knitting didn’t quite work out as I had planned. There were a number of projects that have not been completed, mostly things that I added in December. I’ve decided to postpone several of them for next year rather than giving balls of yarn with needles sticking out of them as gifts. It was one thing to do that the first year or two that I was knitting, but harder to justify it now that I have more experience. I did get to take advantage of some after Christmas sales instead . . . .
I’m going to leave the holiday knitting list up a few more days and then take it down.
I’ve also updated the New Year’s Knitting Resolutions. I now have 6, and those are just the knitting related ones, I also have some for home and work! Guess I have my work cut out for me this year! I plan to leave the knitting resolutions up all year as a reminder of what they are, though I may condense them down to smaller points that serve as reminders later on. . . .
One cute thing that happened over the holidays was that I gave my 19 mo. old niece a hat and mitten set. In the folded portion of the hat brim I had knit in a strand of multi-colored metalic sparkling carrying thread. I pointed out to my niece that her hat had “sparkles”. She repeated the word and seems to have decided that is the hat’s name! She even said it to me again a few days later when I saw her and seemed to be asking were her hat was! Very Cute!!!! If I had a camera . . .
Our big news from over the holidays is that my brother got engaged! He proposed on Christmas eve (isn’t that romantic?) and it sounds like the wedding is likely to be summer of 2005! I’m already getting ideas . . .
Guess that is all for right now . . . . I should try to get some filing done today and start the year off on the right foot . . .
