Happy Snowy Monday!
We had something in the neighborhood of 3 feet of snow at my house over the course of the weekend! Some parts of the Boston area had far less and a few had more but not much more . . . . lots of snow!
I actually don’t mind being snowed in so long as there are groceries in the house, and after a quick trip on Saturday am, before things got too bad, there were plenty of yummy things to eat! DH took charge of snow removal and lucked out with help from a neighbor with heavy equipment a couple of times, though there were still plenty of walkways to shovel. I made sure there was hot mulled cider, hot chocolate or hot coffee on hand for the removal crew when ever they were out. Even brought out hot choc. chip cookies direct from the oven on one trip . . .
On Saturday, A and I made felted catnip toys for the cats. This was both a good thing and a bad thing. Good because the poor things were stuck in side due to snow far taller than they are and bored out of their fuzzy little skulls, and bad because 2 cats high on catnip and trapped in doors can be like a small furry torando going through the house!
They are very excited about their toy and even took turns bringing to us to have us throw it for them. Yes, we have cats who play fetch! Its really quite a funny site. If I had a digital camera I’d take a picture for you, but that may be a while from now!
Sunday I managed to finish one of the holiday gifts and to make a pair of children’s size mittens for the charity kniting drive at my LYS. I still have to finish the I-cord to attach them, but that won’t take much longer. I need to make about 8 more pairs for the people on my list . . . but at least I’m very familar with the pattern now
Oh, and my mom has requested a pair of wool leg warmers . . . . haven’t done those before so this should be interesting. I’m thinking if I keep it simple they should go pretty quick.
Ah well, back to work for now. More knitting tonight!
