Notes from the Road

Hi all, Just a quick message from Atripalda, Avellino, Italy. We are visiting with DH’s family for the next few days . . . So far the trip has been wonderful. I’ve eaten so much I could bust! The only down side is that our camera was taken, so I won’t have pictures of many parts of the trip! We have been traveling with others so eventually I’ll get copies of their pictures from some parts, but there were some that we can’t replace! Major bummer. So far the yarn prospects have been limited. Most of the yarn shops are really shops that sell some yarn, some crochet thread, bras, hair gadgets etc. There was one real yarn shop in Ischia where I got a great deal on some lace weight wool and wool-cashmere. I plan to look for more here and in Rome, wish me luck!

I almost bought an antique spinning wheel in Ischia, they said it was about 130 years old! The trouble was it would be near impossible to get it home. Shipping would have cost as much or more than the wheel itself! Oh well. I’m keeping an eye out for smaller things like spindles which can fit into luggage.

Well, off to visit the cousins. I’ll post again next chance I get!
