Good Morning!
Can you believe its Wednesday already? I sure can’t!
Well, its offical, I have my first cold of the year! I usually manage to hold off until sometime in October and then basically stay sick until sometime in May, but this year I’m getting an early start! Just great! I hope I’m better for the trip in 2 more weeks!
Yup, that’s right, 2 weeks from tomorrow I’ll be on my way to Italy! I’ve never been during the fall so this should be interesting, I’ve only seen it in March when things weren’t quite green yet . . . We have quite a trip planned and I can’t wait. Of course, I really should start figuring out what is being packed! Haven’t even looked at that yet!Hmm, guess we know what I’ll be doing this weekend!
I managed to spin the remaining 2 oz of the Romney from Mom’s shawl fleece, the stuff that didn’t get dyed. I’ve spun almost 4 oz of it now in a fine fingerling weight and last night the first skein of it managed to climb onto a set of dpns! Don’t you just love how yarn manages to escape from stash and throw itself onto needles? This yarn has asked to become the lace gloves in the Gathering of Lace book. I don’t know yet who they will be for (they haven’t told me, it must be a secret
but they will be going in the holiday gift bin when finished.
I’m still working on 2 pairs of socks that go in the gift pile and I need to pick a couple of simple things to take on the trip. Maybe a pair of socks for the plane ride (on dpn bryspuns) and something else small for during the trip. I’m also debating whether to bring a drop spindle and a little fiber so I can keep practicing my spinnng, it may depend on how much my bag weighs when all is said and done . . .
Well, back to work, more later if I can.
