Wednesday! Happy “Hump” day everyone!
I’ve been working like mad on the purple tank top, and I’m up to the bottom 5″ being done! I really want to try to finish it in the next few days so I can wear it to work next week, that is if we ever get any summer weather!
I finished 1 of the socks for Marianna and I have to to the heel and cuff for the second one. I plan to have them done before the weekend is over. Otherwise she may have outgrown them before I finish!!!
The silkworms are growing fast! We’ve given them branches to spin on just in case, though I guess they have another week to go . . . They are eating like a pack of teenage boys! I can’t pick leaves fast enough to keep up with them! We are looking at planting some additional plantings as shrubs around the edges of the yard so that we can increase production in the coming years, if this works out well. I don’t know how many worms to let hatch as moths, I’m still trying to find out how many eggs they ususally lay, but I do have a friend or two interested in some eggs for next year . . .
The “trekking” socks are still on hold while I do the tank top and Marianna’s socks but with only and inch to go I’m bound to get them finished off soon . . . I hope.
And I’m planning to take the rest of the blue fiber (2 oz) with me to spinning tomorrow night so I can get that spun up. I have 2 more ounces of blue and two of green to go before I’ll have finished that yarn, though I have no idea what I’m going to make from it yet! I’m sure something will come to me. Besides, doesn’t home spun need to age, like good wine or cheese, before it is knit?
Okay, lots to do today at work, we’re having our annual party this afternoon and I’m on the planning committee so . . . . off to blow up balloons!
