Well, I wasn’t going to start any new projects until I had finished Marianna’s socks and the blue Trekking socks . . .

and that lasted right until I got home last night! I started a summer tank top style shirt out of a wool/cotton blend. So far I really like the feel of the yarn. I have about 1 1/2 inches of the bottom done (it took me a while to modify the pattern I was working with since my yarn isn’t knitting at quite the same gauge and if I go to that gauge the fabric is looser than I want it . . . . I haven’t taken a picture yet but I will soon . . .

The worms are growing so fast you can almost see them changing! I don’t think it will be more than a few days now before the biggest start spinning, so I’ve started giving them some branches to hang from . . . again, more pictures soon.

I’ve spun 1/2 of the blue tweed Merino and 1/2 of the green wool top that I bought on Saturday. I plied the 2 together and got an interesting looking yarn with a nice blend of the blues and greens and flecks of the other colors . . . One more thing to take a photo of . . . . I hope to spin the other 1/2 this week. I’m trying a new approach to spinning. I’m working on a 2 oz piece at a time to see if I can get that much done in 1 day. That way it should only take 2 days to get the rest spun and another day to ply it. I also tried something I read online somewhere (don’t ask me where ’cause I haven’t got a clue) that said its best to ply yarn working in the same direction it was spun. This means taking each completed bobbin and rewinding it so that the end you started spinning becomes the outside end to start the plying. Its one more step but if this last yarn is any indication the results are worth it!

Oh, and my Cherry Tree Hill Supersock arrived today! I love this stuff! Its wonderful soft and such vibrant colors! I can’t wait to wear a pair of these socks!!!!! Look for a new WIP to be added soon, ’cause I don’t I can hold out long on this yarn, its just screaming to be knit!

Okay, more tomorrow . . .
